Eliz Sanasarian is professor of Political Science and Gender Studies. She is the author of highly acclaimed Religious Minorities in Iran by Cambridge University Press and the award winning The Women’s Rights Movement in Iran. Her publications on a variety of topics have appeared in book chapters and peer reviewed interdisciplinary journals such as Journal of International Affairs, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, Natural Resources, and Diaspora. She is the co-recipient of U.S. Agency for International Development grant for work on vulnerable children and youth in Kenya. She has served on the editorial board of Politics and Religion journal and currently serves on the advisory board of Journal of the Society for Armenian Studies and the nonprofit Family Health Alliance. She has received USC’s President’s Circle Faculty Award for outstanding merit in the areas of teaching, research, and service, University’s Remarkable Women Award by Women’s Student Assembly, and the University’s highest honor, the Associates Award for Excellence in Teaching.
